The name 'Shui Ping' has an interesting origin. In order to accelerate the infusion of tea flavor, the teapot is placed inside a tea serving pot or tea tray, and then hot water is repeatedly poured over the surface of the teapot to facilitate the extraction of the tea flavor.

Due to the practice of using boiling water to pour over the teapot for warming and expediting the infusion of tea flavor, it was noticed, that certain small teapots would occasionally float gracefully and steadily in the hot water without tilting or tipping, appearing perfectly level like a horizontal plane. As a result, they came to be known as 'Shui Ping.'

Yuan Kuang Zhu Ni or original ore pure clay without coloring or powders added, and the red tone is pure and bright at the beginning. Over time it develops a beautiful bronze tone that is impossible to replicate.

There is an artistic and functional standard for evaluating Yixing teapots, refining tea-making by appearance alone. After considering the quality of the material, a balance exists between beauty and function. As tea lovers, our propensity is shape and style, which enhance the flavor of tea.
